WUXI (December 17, 2018) – The Donaldson campus in Wuxi, China, now the company’s largest, will expand next year – bringing additional capacity and driving growth in Asia Pacific. Once complete, the manufacturing facility will encompass more than 60,000 m2 / 646,000 ft2, increasing air filter manufacturing capacity and bringing the company’s first Chinese-based liquid filtration manufacturing capability to the region.
Donaldson first opened the Wuxi, China facility in 1997 to manufacture disk drive filters. Since then, Donaldson has expanded the original plant, added technical labs and built three additional manufacturing plants and a distribution center.
The new building will employ 90 employees, with plans to increase to a total of 250 employees and 35 staff members on the shop floor during the next few years.
With the overall filtration market in China expecting steady growth for the future, the Wuxi facility will position Donaldson to react swiftly to growing OEM and aftermarket customer needs.
China has played an important role in Donaldson’s global strategy for nearly 50 years. With this new investment in Wuxi, Donaldson continues to strengthen its commitment to customers throughout the Asian Pacific markets and enhance capabilities to provide customized filtration solutions for their local needs. The new addition to the Wuxi facility is due to complete in August of 2019.
The Donaldson presence in the Asia Pacific region dates back to 1965, when Nippon Donaldson Ltd. was formed. Today, Donaldson’s Asia Pacific operations include facilities in Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and China.
